Social skills, practiced where life happens.
Not scripts and drills. Real play, real siblings, real back-and-forth, with goals we measure like everything else.
Play is the curriculum.
We do not drill greetings at a table and call it friendship. Sessions are built around games, toys, and the people your child already loves, because connection learned inside real play is connection your child will actually use.
Along the way we work on the pieces that make play work: sharing, turn-taking, keeping a conversation going, and handling the big feelings that come with winning, losing, and waiting.
- Play skills, sharing, and turn-taking
- Conversation and back-and-forth exchanges
- Emotional regulation for big moments
Who this program helps.
Plays nearby, not together
Your child is happiest in parallel play and has not yet found the on-ramp into shared games. We build play skills one step at a time.
Big feelings mid-game
Losing a turn or sharing a favorite toy ends in tears or a meltdown. We teach emotional regulation tools alongside the play itself.
Wants friends, unsure how
Your child is interested in other kids, but conversations stall after hello. We work on greetings, questions, and keeping an exchange going.
From first assessment to real friendships.
Listen and assess
We start with standardized assessments such as the Vineland-3 and SRS-2, and, just as important, we watch how your child plays.
Set real goals
Sharing, turn-taking, starting a conversation. Each goal gets a baseline, a measurable objective, and mastery criteria before we begin.
Practice through play
Sessions use games, siblings, and everyday moments at home, so practice looks a lot like play. Because it is.
Carry it outward
We plan for generalization across people and places, coach caregivers so skills keep growing between sessions, and formally review the plan at least every 30 days.
Covered by insurance
Social goals are written into a standard ABA treatment plan, so coverage works the way it does for ABA therapy overall. We work with Maryland Medicaid, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and other major plans, and we verify your benefits for free before you commit to anything.
On an explanation of benefits, direct one-on-one sessions appear as CPT code 97153 and BCBA plan adjustments as 97155. Our insurance page covers the details, or call and ask.
