Baltimore City Public Schools runs Child Find for ages 3 to 21; call (443) 984-1011 or email ChildFind@bcps.k12.md.us to request a free evaluation. Parents also have a formal voice through the district's Special Education Citizens' Advisory Committee.
Before age three
The Baltimore Infants and Toddlers Program at the Baltimore City Health Department, (410) 396-1666, provides free early intervention for children under three. When your child ages out, we can help you plan what comes next.

Parent organizations
Pathfinders for Autism staffs a free statewide helpline at (443) 330-5341. The Arc Baltimore, (410) 296-2272 on York Road, has supported city and county families since 1949 with respite, family support, and advocacy.
A local autism society
The Autism Society of Baltimore-Chesapeake, (410) 655-7933, is an all-volunteer chapter founded in 1976, with parent and caregiver groups, social events, and a weekly virtual general meeting on Tuesday evenings.
Sensory-friendly outings
Port Discovery opens two hours early for Sensory Friendly Sundays, the Maryland Zoo hands out free sensory bags at the Main Gate, and the National Aquarium keeps a quiet room on hand. All three are KultureCity certified.
