Schools and Child Find
PGCPS special education runs through the Department of Special Education in Landover, (301) 618-8355. Birth to three
The Prince George's County Infants and Toddlers Program, (301) 925-6627, provides free early intervention from birth through 35 months. When your child ages out, we can help you bridge into preschool services and ABA without losing momentum.
Getting a diagnosis
Children's National's Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders keeps an outpatient office in Lanham, right in the county; appointments run through 1-888-884-2327. Kennedy Krieger's autism center (CASSI) in Baltimore takes new referrals at (888) 554-2080.
Parent organizations
Pathfinders for Autism, (443) 330-5341, answers a free statewide helpline with a real person on the other end. The Arc Prince George's County, (301) 925-7050, is based in Largo and has supported county families since 1952.
Military families
Joint Base Andrews sits right here in Prince George's County. EFMP Family Support at the Military and Family Readiness Center is (301) 981-7087, and we support TRICARE families through the Autism Care Demonstration.
Adapted recreation
The county's M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation runs therapeutic recreation for residents with disabilities: adapted swim lessons, summer day camps, social clubs, and a Kids' Care after-school program. Reach Disability Services at (301) 446-3400.
