Schools and Child Find
HCPSS Special Education is reachable at (410) 313-6600. For free preschool evaluations (ages 3 to 5), HCPSS Preschool Child Find is (410) 313-7046, based at the Old Cedar Lane Building on Beaverkill Road in Columbia. The county SECAC gives parents a standing voice in special education.
Birth to three
The Howard County Infants and Toddlers Program, (410) 313-7017, provides free early intervention from birth through age 2. When your child turns 3, in-home ABA can pick up the work, and we can help you plan that handoff.
Getting a diagnosis
Kennedy Krieger's Center for Autism Services, Science and Innovation (CASSI) offers autism evaluations at four Maryland locations, including one right in Columbia. Scheduling is (443) 923-7630; new-patient intake is (888) 554-2080.
